Kabaka Pyramid is taking the message on the road. The Grammy-winning reggae artist is celebrating 15 years since his original Rebel Music project with a run across the United States that kicks off on Wednesday, 4 November in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The route

After the Virginia Beach opener, the tour heads through North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, California and Oregon, before finishing in Hawaii:

  • 4 November: Virginia Beach, Virginia (opening night)
  • 27 November: Wailuku, Hawaii
  • 28 November: Hilo, Hawaii

Venue details and the full city list for the stops in between are expected closer to the opener, so watch this space.

‘The message is still alive’

“Rebel Music has always been about using the music to uplift, educate and connect with people,” Kabaka said. “Fifteen years later, the message is still alive and still growing.” He added that ending the year on the road “feels like the right way to celebrate that journey”.

Don’t expect a Rebel Music-only night, though. The setlist will pull from across his catalogue. In August he released The Lyrics Tape edition of Rebel Music, and his 2022 album The Kalling, executive produced by Damian Marley, won Best Reggae Album at the Grammys in February 2023.

Born Keron Salmon in Kingston, Jamaica, Kabaka Pyramid now takes 15 years of Rebel Music coast to coast. US fans, get ready.
