H-Town showed up. Kanye “Ye” West played to 80,210 fans at Reliant Stadium in Houston on Saturday 31 October, according to Hip Hop All Day, setting a new attendance record for a hip-hop concert in the US. The record he beat was his own: his April run at SoFi Stadium, where he sold more than 74,000 tickets on each of its two nights.
Ye marked the moment on stage during ‘Ghost Town’, as captured in an Instagram clip: “We just broke the record. Biggest [rap] concert in U.S. history. Thank you, H-Town.” He also told the crowd: “Thank y’all for sticking by me all these years.”
Playboi Carti joins the party
Playboi Carti got a special guest slot. The pair ran through ‘CARNIVAL’ from VULTURES and ‘Off The Grid’ from Donda, before Carti took over solo with ‘Sky’, ‘Timeless’, ‘EVIL J0RDAN’ and ‘FE!N’. HotNewHipHop notes the two had a rough patch but appear to have reconciled, with Ye already guesting at Carti’s ComplexCon set this year.
North West and André Troutman also joined the show, while Drake and Travis Scott reportedly watched from the crowd after sitting courtside at that night’s Rockets vs Thunder game. Mike Dean was reportedly there too.
For the record books: Ye’s biggest show of his career is still Istanbul in May 2026, where he performed for 118,000 fans.
