Davido on a Joint Tour With Wizkid: ‘I’ll Ask for $500,000 Per Show’

RTMRADIO.NET News card: Davido says a joint tour with Wizkid would be $500K a show – Afrobeats

Davido has put a price on the Afrobeats dream ticket. Speaking on the IONWANNATALK podcast, he said that if he and Wizkid ever toured together, he would charge $500,000 per show.

“But if we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out,” he said.

A tour, maybe. A song? Not so sure

Interestingly, Davido was less sure about a joint song. “I don’t know if it will pop,” he said, pointing to D’banj and 2Baba’s collaboration as an example of a big link-up that didn’t land the way people expected.

He also said the two haven’t recorded together in close to a decade. In his view that’s down to being in different mental spaces, not because they can’t work together. Looking back on old disagreements, he added: “I felt that way at some point, but not anymore, and it takes a great man to admit that.”

Don’t book flights yet

To be clear, nothing Davido said means a tour is planned, and Wizkid had not responded when DancehallMag published the story. Both came up in Lagos around the same time and helped take Afrobeats to international charts and arenas, and their fans have argued for years over who is the greatest.

Still, hearing Davido talk about maturity and a possible tour in the same breath? That’s a conversation Afrobeats fans will be having all week. Would you pay to see it?
