Is the Montego Bay queen getting ready to reign again? Queen Ifrica has set fans talking with a short Facebook post that read: “Don’t wait UNTILL January morning start now” – before signing off with “2027 loading Breath of Life #Selflove.”
Project or motivation?
That’s all she wrote – literally. The post doesn’t mention an album, a single, a tracklist or a release date, and there has been no label announcement or press statement. ‘Breath of Life’ could be the name of a 2027 project, or simply a theme for the new year; the #Selflove hashtag and “start now” message also read as a straightforward bit of motivation.
Why fans are excited
Born Ventrice Morgan, Queen Ifrica is the daughter of ska pioneer Derrick Morgan and came up through Tony Rebel’s Flames Productions camp, building her name on conscious reggae. Her 2009 album Montego Bay, named after her hometown and released through VP Records, was packed with social commentary, and she followed it with Climb in 2017.
If ‘Breath of Life’ does turn out to be an album, it would be her first full-length in about a decade. For now, it’s one post and a lot of hope – and RTMRADIO.NET will be watching closely for the next move.
