Chris Brown has a two-word answer for fans upset about the opening night of his Atlanta run with Usher: “Internet cap.” In a short post to his social media story, he added: “Don’t fall for it.”
The show took place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the first of five Atlanta dates. The stadium stop was first booked for two nights and extended because of demand.
What fans complained about
Concertgoers raised three issues: a long delay, a set that felt rushed, and few joint moments between the two stars. Fans said the show didn’t get going until around 10pm, when they had expected a start of roughly 7 to 7:30pm, and some said it finished early. T.I. made a guest appearance.
People who caught earlier dates described a format where the pair open together, trade songs, have a mid-show dance battle and close on ‘New Flame’. Some at the Atlanta opener said that structure was missing, and that Usher skipped his usual ‘Cherries’ moment in the crowd. One fan said in a video that “it took two hours for y’all to come out” and rated the night five out of 10.
Some online commentators suggested production problems or a strict venue curfew could explain it. Neither camp has given a fuller explanation, and requests for comment hadn’t been answered when DancehallMag published. At the end of the show, Brown told the crowd: “Thank y’all so much for this opportunity,” and “We love y’all.”
Four more Atlanta shows remain. As one concertgoer put it: “Maybe the last day will be better.”
