EMPIRE STAR TERRENCE HOWARD AND WIFE MIRA WELCOME A BABY BOY TO THE THE FAMILY
Terrence Howard is a dad again! The “Empire” star and wife Mira welcomed a baby boy a month ago and have named him Qirin Love.
The 46-year-old actor revealed the happy news at the Monaco TV Festival in Monaco while promoting his hit Fox show.
“He’s beautiful and strong and a whirlwind and my wife is so happy,” Howard told Access Hollywood, explaining that his son’s unusual name is inspired from a mythic Chinese creature called the qilin, which is thought to be a good omen for prosperity and peacefulness.
Howard revealed that he and his wife have both been looking after their newborn.
“She has to be up with him all throughout the day. I wasn’t born with boobs, I’ve started growing some recently,” he said laughingly.
“She has the boobage and nurses him during the day,” he continued. “So, I pull night duty, so that she can sleep and I keep him with me and will take some of the pre-pumped, you know, breast cheese, whatever you call it.”
Howard has been married three times and has three older children and one grandchild.
According to a 2013 Gawker report, Howard was the subject of six violence cases or allegations between 2000 and 2013. Two involved his ex-wife Michelle Ghent. He pleaded guilty once, to disorderly conduct in 2001.
During an “Empire” press tour Howard acknowledged he had anger issues, saying they resulted from a turbulent upbringing, “not knowing how to deal with frustration” and “not knowing who Terrence Howard was.”
But the “Crash” star concluded: “I’ve grown so much from anything that happened in the past.”
