MISSY ELLIOTT MENTORS FOR PHARRELL WILLIAMS ON ‘THE VOICE’
Hip hop star Missy Elliott will work it as a mentor on the upcoming season of “The Voice.”
The “Get Ur Freak On” rapper has signed on to help advise the contestants on judge Pharrell Williams’ team when the NBC singing competition returns on Sept. 21, E! News first reported.
Elliott joins a supergroup of mentors that have already been recruited for the ninth season of the show: Selena Gomez is working with Gwen Stefani’s team, country crooner Brad Paisley is assisting Blake Shelton’s squad and rock icon John Fogerty is on Adam Levine’s team.
Rihanna, meanwhile, is set to take over Taylor Swift’s role as an advisor to all the contestants.
Pharrell’s ties to Ellliott go well beyond the show. In April, he revealed that he’s working with Elliott as a producer on her upcoming album.
