FETTY WAP MAKES IT RAIN IN NEW JERSEY HALL
Some lucky shoppers at a New Jersey mall may have gotten a head start on their holiday shopping thanks to Fetty Wap.
The “Trap Queen” rapper says he threw close to $2,000 over a balcony to shoppers at the Garden State Mall in Paramus on Saturday.
The 25-year-old Jersey Boy was out with his daughter Zaviera when he felt inspired to make it rain.
“Got to see my daughter today, took her shoppin’ and I was so happy I threw 2K in the mall never no who needed it,” he tweeted.
This isn’t the first time the rapper, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, has done a good deed.
The 25-year-old hit-maker, who lost his right eye to congenital glaucoma, left a heartfelt message on the Instagram belonging to a young fan who was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer that affects children.
In August, he gave a free outdoor concert to Eastside High School students in his hometown of Paterson, N.J.
He attended the school until dropping out his sophomore year.
It’s been a good year for the rapper.
His self-titled debut came in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart earlier this month, and his other Top 10 pop hits include “679” and “My Way.”
But’s he’s also had some brushes with the law.
In September, he collided with a car while riding his motorcycle in his hometown.
His injuries were non-threatening and he recovered in less than a month.
But Paterson police slapped him with three summonses, including one for driving without a license, not having insurance and failing to produce a vehicle registration card.
