Diamond selling reggae/dancehall star Shaggy is enjoying worldwide attention with his single ‘I Need Your Love’, which features Mohombi Faydee Costi.
The song was released in 2014, however, with tonight’s appearance on the popular US late night TV show,The Tonight Show, with host Jimmy Fallon, the artiste is poised to remain in the spotlight for an extended period.
The show will be aired on NBC. Shaggy has been on a rigid promotional campaign since the song began racking up views on social media, and will be only the second reggae artiste to appear on The Tonight Show since Fallon took over from former host Jay Leno in 2014.
No stranger to international charts and media, Shaggy said the interview will take the shape of a skit.
“It’s cool, it’s pretty much a skit with much comedy. We are going to play around a bit because that will give us more viral mileage. From wi born wi full a personality, and I have done drama before because I had a role in the movie Blast with Eddie Griffin,” he said.
Shaggy, who also made a stop at the popular US-based show Sway In The Morning, recently, said I Need Your Love is poised to become a summer anthem. The artiste also said he has a formula to surviving interviews.
“I did not take any training for interviews. However, I learn from the mistakes of others and mi nah call nuh name still. But if yu see a man step inna a pothole, yu know nuffi step inna it,” he said.
